Curtis and I decided to go out to a nice dinner last night. We made our way over to the West Village and dined in the lovely Spotted Pig. They serve seasonal British & Italian using local ingredients when possible.
There are vegetarian dishes, but we had the chicken liver toast as an appetizer. And then I had the Pan Roasted Guinea Fowl with Morels and Curtis had the Chargrilled Burger with Roquefort Cheese & Shoestrings. The fowl was incredible. Best bird I've ever had! For dessert, we had the Crème Caramel.
The Spotted Pig is owned by April Bloomfield, Ken Friedman, and Mario Battali; however, the chef is April Bloomfield. There is no dress code and tables are first come, first serve. We got there and we were told we would have a 45 minute wait, but at that moment two seats opened up at the bar so we ate there. How lucky!
